Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of afacademy.org and your enrolment in any course, event or webinar offered by AF Academy, the training unit of Aqua Foundation, a society registered under the Societies Act (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or placing an order you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and Cancellation Policy.

1. Your account

  • You must give accurate details and keep them up to date.
  • Keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • An account is personal. Do not share sign-in details or let others use your course access.
  • If you are enrolling on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to do so.

2. Courses and enrolment

  • Each course page describes its format (live cohort or self-paced), schedule, access period, prerequisites and what a certificate requires. That description forms part of your purchase.
  • Your enrolment is confirmed once payment succeeds and you receive a confirmation email.
  • For corporate, government and PSU group bookings, we accept purchase orders against GST-compliant invoices issued by Aqua Foundation. Any signed agreement or MoU takes precedence over these terms where they differ.
  • When you enrol other participants, you must have their permission to share their details with us.

3. Prices and payment

  • Prices are shown in Indian Rupees (INR) for buyers in India and US Dollars (USD) elsewhere, based on your location. Applicable taxes, including GST, are shown at checkout.
  • Payments are processed securely by Razorpay. Your bank or card issuer may charge currency conversion fees.
  • We may change prices at any time, but the price you paid for a confirmed enrolment will not change.
  • If a price is clearly wrong because of an error, we will contact you before confirming and you may cancel for a full refund.

4. Access to course content

  • Access starts on the cohort start date for live courses, or on the purchase date for self-paced courses, and lasts for the access period stated on the course page.
  • Live sessions follow the published schedule in Indian Standard Time unless stated otherwise. Recordings, where offered, are available within the access period.
  • We may update course content to keep it accurate and current, without reducing its overall scope.

5. Certificates

Certificates are issued only when you meet the completion criteria on the course page, such as attendance, assignments or assessments. Each certificate has a unique ID that employers can verify. We may revoke a certificate obtained through misconduct, such as plagiarism or impersonation.

6. Intellectual property

All course materials, including recorded lectures, slides, datasets, case studies and assessments, belong to Aqua Foundation or its instructors and licensors. You receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own learning during your access period. You may not copy, record, redistribute, publicly host, resell or use them commercially without our written permission.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to disrupt live sessions, harass instructors or other learners, share course access, attempt to breach the security of the site, or use automated tools to download content. We may suspend or end access, without a refund, if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms.

8. Reviews and content you submit

When you submit a review, testimonial or other content, you confirm it is your honest opinion and give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it on our site and in marketing, with your name, as you agreed when submitting it. We may remove content that is unlawful, abusive or misleading.

9. Professional disclaimer

Our courses are educational. They do not replace site-specific engineering judgement, codes, standards or professional advice. You are responsible for how you apply what you learn in your work.

10. Liability

We take reasonable care to deliver courses as described. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to a course is limited to the amount you paid for that course, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or project delays. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

11. Changes beyond our control

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, internet or power outages, or government action. In that case we will reschedule or offer remedies under our Cancellation Policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in force when you enrolled applies to that enrolment. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the new terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. We will first try to resolve any dispute informally. If that fails, the courts at New Delhi, India have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have to approach a consumer forum.
